To Stirling Castle

I.

O Stirling fair, in history steeped,

Wi’ tales of battles fought and weeped,

A Royal Palace, grand tae see,

A monument o’ Scotland’s glee.

II.

Upon yon hill, it proudly stands,

A witness to auld Scotland’s lands,

Where Wallace roared an’ Bruce prevailed,

Their fight for freedom ne’er derailed.

III.

The Stirling Bridge, a battle fierce,

Wi’ courage strong, the English pierced,

An’ Bannockburn, a triumph won,

O’er England’s might, a new day begun.

IV.

Wi’ ramparts tall an’ walls so wide,

A symbol of unyielding pride,

Defending kith an’ kin of yore,

This fortress shall forevermore.

V.

From Royal halls, the echoes ring,

O’ kings an’ queens, an’ jesters’ fling,

The tapestries an’ banquet feasts,

A record of long gone high priests.

VI.

O Stirling Castle, proud an’ true,

A testament to freedom’s hue,

In battles fierce, in love an’ strife,

Thy walls have lived a thousand life.
